Air Compressors produce an oil and water mixture that can cause massive inefficiency in any air system. To combat this problem several companies manufacture Oil/Water Separators which require filter elements to absorb any oil that enters the separator. Once these elements are depleted a replacement is needed to keep an Oil/Water Separator functioning properly.
The manufactures of these products want you to think that only an element they produce will work in Oil/Water Separators they manufacture. Because of this they will make you pay a premium price to replace an element with their brand name on it.
